Wordle Starting Words

Picking a starting word is critical to solving the daily Wordle puzzle.  If you don’t have a good strategy for playing the game, you will win some and lose some.  If you have a strategy and follow some basic rules and tips, you’ll go from win some, lose some to wining every single day.  Then it will just be a matter of how quickly you can solve, rather than if you can solve.  And who doesn’t love posting 3s and 4s on their Facebook and Twitter timelines.  We would not only suggest picking a really good starting word, we would actually suggest picking a good starting word pair.  This is two starter words with 10 different letters.  A good example is ARISE and CLOUT.  Sometimes ARISE will give you enough letters to formulate a good guess at solving.  Sometimes, you need a second word to help narrow down the word pool.  Here are our favorite starting words.  The list was created by analyzing all the words in the Wordle dictionary and looking at statistics for the most common letters and the position where each letter appeared in the words.  They’ve also been tested by our staff in actual games.  If you have any questions of have some starting words of your own that work well for you, feel free to comment below and share your tips with our users.
